The Final Day of the 33 Day Consecration to Mary - The Light Shines in the Darkness
Today is the last day of the 33-day consecration to Mary. Merry Christmas! After a period of waiting, the Savior has come. After a period of darkness, there is light. The Lord has bared His mighty arm (Isaiah 52:10) in the most perplexing and profound of ways – a helpless child born in a stable to poor and humble parents many generations after salvation was promised. For 33 or 34 days, we have consecrated ourselves, our families, our nation and our Church. Certainly, the Church and our nation have seen some dark times. There may be things you are concerned about for your family or yourself. But the ruins of Jerusalem will break out in song! The Lord will comfort His people (Isaiah 52:9)! The Lord is always victorious, even if His methods and timing perplex us. His ways are above our ways (Isaiah 55:9). Writing along with the consecration prayer, I operated from a “give us this day our daily bread” stance. I wrote what I felt led to write each day in prayer. A lot was on anxiety, suffering and frustrations. I hope the Lord gave you what you needed to hear. I learned a lot too, as the Holy Spirit was writing through me. Against the darkness, Mary is the Morning Star, and she ushers in the dawn of her Son’s Glorious Light. We, along with our Church, our nation, and our families, will be transfigured along with Jesus’ brilliance. As I prayed for you and your intentions on this last day, I asked the Lord, in particular, to come into your darkest places. Shine, Lord Jesus! Thanks for joining the consecration and letting me write. It was my honor to pray for you and your families and to serve Holy Mother. On this last day, we finally consecrate ourselves, our families, our nation and our Church. John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. A Solemn Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the request of the Vicar of Your Son on earth, we consecrate ourselves and our families to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and we recommend to You, all the people of our country and all the world. Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us as You wish to accomplish Your designs in the world. O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and Queen of the World, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King. Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully. We come with confidence to You, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Make our hearts and homes Your shrine, and through us, make the Heart of Jesus, together with your rule, triumph in every heart and home. Amen. --Venerable Pope Pius XII
